Every night in the United States, too many children go to sleep uncertain of what tomorrow will bring -- and that compromises their health, school performance, and emotional well-being. Pajama Program works with more than 4,000 community partners across the United States and Puerto Rico to provide kids with cozy pajamas, inspiring storybooks, and critical resources for parents and caregivers. After all, their motto is “Good Nights Are Good Days”! Pajama Program also maintains Reading Centers in New York City and Atlanta, where children visit and connect with caring volunteers, spend an hour reading, and leave with a new pair of pajamas and a new book to keep! Here’s a link to a video featuring Pajama Program founder Genevieve Piturro that explains how her work with foster children inspired this program, and all they’ve achieved since then: https://pajamaprogram.org/our-story/ Besos de sol, abrazos de luna (the bilingual version of Sun Kisses, Moon Hugs) is an ideal book for this program, and we’re excited to know that it will become part of Pajama Program’s cozy bedtime routines to comfort and reassure children, as well as strengthen kids’ bonds to their parents and caregivers. The books we donate will be distributed by Pajama Partners to the community partner programs that need them most, including group homes, shelters, foster care agencies and Headstart programs.
